So far I’m having fun playing this game. I enjoy how the levels are laid out, however repetitive they are. I enjoy being able to select a different class if I want to. I love being able to explore inbetween chapters. Most importantly I love the absolute freedom you get. The game is by no means perfect though. One thing I think the game needs is a faster movement speed for the players. Maybe even a run button would work aswell. Another thing is that the story chapters can drag on for a while, so maybe making them not so boring or drag on for so long could help. But the biggest issue is the multiplayer restriction. You need to be 18+ in order to even access the online functionality. Most other games require lower ages than this game. Some games would make sense to have the online for 18+, but here it just doesn’t make sense. This is a lego game, known to be super family friendly, so why then is the online restriction for 18+? I doubt many adults will be playing this, so it just means that a lot of people can’t go online. I think a more fair number would be 13\14+ cause children would understand it then. If this issue was fixed, it would mean more people able to play online. PLEASE fix this problem, it doesn’t need to be 18+ for the online features.
Hi dev team, I’ve been playing this game since launch, and I’ve noticed a consistent downward trend in the currency I can earn from replaying the observatory holosims, making me and I’m sure many others want to quit playing. To earn rewards and complete quests, players have to play the same levels over and over, and so it becomes very noticeable and frustrating when a holosim can earn up to 1.6K bits, and then after this new update, only about 800 bits. I am breaking every object, defeating every enemy, even the respawning ones, and choosing the highest corruption level every time, so I KNOW this massive decrease is real. This makes the game a lot less fun because the high prices of items begin to feel unreachable especially when we are used to almost double the bits per holosim. It is also frustrating because in these levels, many times an enemy, corrupted enemy, or object will actually not drop money at all, where PRIOR to this update they would. They may even appear to drop bits, but then vanish as soon as they touch the ground of the level, resulting in a completed 3 tier holosim earning 4-8 HUNDRED databits less than previously. This change may not be intentional, and I’m sure the disappearing bits are a glitch, but it is unplayable and we need this to be fixed to continue working to earn rewards and therefore playing at all.
This game was surprisingly robust, but it is rather limited in content. Simulations that you play are fun but I feel like it should be a jumping off point to something more. Once the story is done, really not a lot to do. I understand that in this format the devs are limited to what’s doable in an mmorpg, and the game really has some nice moments, especially in the vehicle sim. The 3 environments are huge and your path starts at different points on the map. There are a lot of ships to unlock but really only 2 that stand out, the Y-Wing fighter and a ship resembling Boba Fetts, both of which have auto turrets and devastating missiles. The auto turrets pick up targets you would otherwise miss. Once you use them, the other ships abilities pale in comparison, like a force field that can only take one hit or a simple roll maneuver. My only other problem may be my own, but this game crashes often. I play on an iPad Pro but it could have an issue, though none of the other Arcade games crash. I would play this in a different format if they expanded the world and used the sims as a training ground before joining a faction of the force and having real battles. The basics are all there and it captures the charm of the Lego Movies. Tons of potential.
In the Star Wars Castaways game on Arcade / Mac there is a problem with the Imperial battleground where even my max level game (Lvl 15 support) cannot fight. I lost 30 -minutes- due to another player that was overpowering everyone. Each time I accessed the game I got thrown out or was unable to play against anyone. I've uploaded a screenshot of the players involved. This game was enjoyable until tonight. Gameloft or Disney need to either pull this game or remove hostile users. In another incident about a week ago. a player was repeatedly allowed to invite random players and then leave AFK the game. Nothing in the game stopped them from abusing it. You need to put controls on this game where it is RANDOM MULTIPLAYER. This is a basic and expected necessity in 2023. I should not have to send a screenshot each and every time. Why doesn't this game have a Player ID and Data Center listed for it? Mac isn't iOS, but MacOS isn't an option in the dropdown menu. Random matchmaking is a risky business for all video games. Game loft knows better. Apple Arcade might be silent for now, but it’s a big problem if your game supports hostile AFK activities by not allowing users to report or block hostile players. I don’t recommend this game for kids on Arcade at this time. Get them a console that sends user activity to a bigger network that will attempt to stop hostile “players.”
This game is overall a great game and the only reason I want to get Apple Arcade is because of this game. The island interactions are really fun! Lots of stuff to do on the island. The best part of the game is having the freedom to customize your Lego Star Wars character, which has been my dream since the 90’s. However… I really wanted to give this game five stars, but I didn’t because the Observatory HoloSims freeze too much. It can be frustrating when you are fighting well with a lightsaber, and the game starts to do a slideshow effect causing your character to fail the mission in some cases. BUT… that being said, I do not mind when the game crashes. I know I have heard the game runs hot, so I would much rather have the game crash. That way I can just reboot the game effortlessly. Last thing: I genuinely like this game. I have been playing since launch, have been playing it almost every day for two years, and have been hoping there will be many more jubilantly fun, sometimes competitive-yes, but mostly entertaining gameplay time invested in the upcoming years for this game.
Having a lot of fun with this game; great graphics, smooth frame rate, and plays like the rest of the Lego games. There’s two things bothering me, though, that I hope get patched: 1. Walking feels too slow, it would be great to have an option to always run at full speed. Waiting for your run speed to ramp up as you’re walking along just doesn’t feel good and gets frustrating. 2. The Invert Y-Axis setting is off by default, so when you begin a flying mission, down is down and up is up. If you’ve played Starfox, a flying sim, or flown a plane, you’ll know that down is up and and up is down (inverted y-axis). The first vehicle mission is an absolute SLOG to get through because it’s set up differently from typical flying games and the real world. What would be great is if the game gave you an option as you began flying, or if it saw that you were trying to fly with an inverted axis and ask if you’d like to change it, as you can’t change it mid-mission. I’ve seen this prompt in some flying games, so it’s been done before.
I have always loved Lego games. They make great jokes in the middle which always seem to relate to the movie in some fantastic way. This game is great for the most part. I like that you encourage multiplayer, have different kinds of missions, and even a story line campaign and weekly/daily quests (tasks). However, racing other players is very challenging and it appears often on those tasks. Players don’t seem to want to race whenever I log in (as is my experience) and therefore I am forced to not complete my daily/weekly tasks because I can’t get people to join. It would be great if there was a way to skip the challenge (more so with monthly), possibly like how you can flip the daily? Or a way to invite people to race. Or both even. Also, I had to look into how to do the brick collection challenge (web search). Even though it appears obvious, the first time I played this game it was not clear. (The color and shape shown on task, which is obvious in retrospect) Great game, all in all. 😁
The game and mini games can be fun to play through. After a bit they can be repetitive. The graphics are fine. The problem is the constant crashes. [The crashes are even more frequent in the current update - as of October 2022.] Worst still, harder (two star) daily challenges seem to no longer provide the promised rewards for completion. For whatever reason, the game do not register the conditions being met. For example, “get a gold medal in any observatory holosim with three corruptions.” So, play a three corruption holosim, complete it with enough points to be awarded a gold star, exited to lobby and… nothing. Game still thinks the challenge was completed. Try a different holosim with three corruptions, same. Switch to the one star challenge. Rewarded upon completion. What gives? To top everything off, last week’s special weekly challenge with the final prize being a “custom podracer,” had no directions to redeem. According to someone online, it was a glitch related to achieving a certain achievement it the October Event, and using that achievement that will cause the glitch. This game is a complete waste of time. Don’t play, don’t download, don’t recommend.
This game is really unexpected and is one of the coolest multiplayer role playing games to come out of Apple Arcade and the App Store in general. There’s so many fun levels to run by yourself or with friends. There’s flying missions and a very engaging leveling system. The whole figure it out by yourself attitude really adds to the exploration factor when on the island and the game is very populated with a great player base. The only thing is it needs more content! It’s a good base game with a lot of potential! More levels would be great. Also an easier way to que up sims or pvp would be amazing, particularly a system where It auto quest you with other people for pvp or random sim levels just to make it easier to hope in. Also a way to add players as friends in the world and maybe a chat box. This game could really be one of the top role playing games because of the pure fun of it! Would recommend and would’ve given it 5 stars if it had a few more quality of life features!
I HIGHLY enjoy this game with all my heart! I am a die hard Star Wars fan through and through and have completely enjoyed this game! With that said my only gripe would be that it gets very monotonous to play the SAME levels Over and over and over and OVER!! It makes it hard to play for longer than an hour or two. I absolutely LOVE the vehicle Holosim but am DYING for a new level or two! I appreciate all your hard work that went into this game and I love it so much. Just a little more variety would be fantastic! Also I would like to take a second to say how AMAZING it would be if you also made a game like this that was Ghostbusters! We really REALLY need a LEGO Ghostbusters game!! Ok that is all! Thank you!! Update: Recently when I get into the game I get a notice that I need to log into my Game Center, however I’m already signed in and then it tells me that it cannot connect to the Hub!! My online stuff is messsed up and it’s not on my end because everything works in all my other games! 3 stars until it’s fixed!
