I was pleasantly surprised to see this in Apple Arcade. If you’re a fan of the genre then you’re probably already familiar with this game. If you play other mobile shmups and haven’t tried this then download immediately. Although not as good as playing in an actual arcade this is a good port. A lot of fun with great replay ability trying to beat your own and others high scores. Hopefully people play this and as a result more CAVE games get added. Highly recommend all to give this game a shot.
CAVE Maaaaaaaaaaan! Thankful & greatful of this port & like others said it is not perfect from playing the actual Arcade versions this is needed to wake up new fans for our beloved genre. I am included with those of us that try to get others to join us in a subscription to have major Mobile Videogaming fun😃especially for this genre. We need a Shmup & Bullet Heaven(shout out to the Studio Mudprints L❤️vebirds) category here like yesterday, 4realz! It is so crisp & clean for the graphics and smooth relative controls. Since this is a beautiful surprise I am sure CAVE will one day soon open back up their whole catalog for us. I need those Bug Princesses 🐞🐜🪲🐛🐝. I highly recommend this Funtaztic Shmup. Remember when Apple Arcade had standards? What is this garbage, and how has Apple allowed this (and some other recent titles) to slip through both the cracks in the App Store, but the premium Apple Arcade as well! This is not what we’re paying for. The game is from what, 2008? The game only fits on our screens because they have letterboxed the top and bottom instead of putting any effort into anything more than “copy and paste.” No idea how this snuck through quality control, but I’m seriously starting to question the value from Apple Arcade, as are many others (read the forums!) so if this is your thing, have fun, but I’ve found myself going back to premium paid titles in the normal App Store instead of Arcade.
I love me some Phoenix 2 but tired of the micro transactions, this easily fills that spot. Hoping more games like this come out.
This was ported over using a $99 kit. The play area is 1/2 the screen - 1/4 of the top is useless blank space and 1/4 of the bottom is useless blank space. At least allow the bottom area for controlling the ship? Instead, my finger takes up the majority of the screen making this game unplayable. Very disappointing, but typical of rushed ports I find in Apple Arcade.
I REALLY want to like this game, but have experienced such horrendous slow down to the point it’s almost unplayable. Weird game crashes while playing levels as well, the screen will go black, but the borders are still visible. If this stuff is fixed 5 stars for sure!
This game has always been hot. Thank you for making it immortal through Apple Arcade… quality game.
I really hope and pray they bring more over and usher in a slight renaissance for Cave shmups. I just want them to have incentive to make ESP Galuda 2 available on 64bit IOS

Not sure where to submit a bug report, but the game is good because it’s Dodonpachi. However, I assume the lack of sound is not intended. Adjusting the settings does nothing.
