The game is really fun, but too many of words in the puzzles are just awful. Scrabblese, archaic, obscure words - CORM, ELL, BURLS, LIB and friends. Good puzzles though, give it a try if you can get past the unfortunate vocab.
I like the gameplay and the overall feel of this game. It’s one of those that feels good to play, everything is snappy and nice. Why isn’t this version available on Mac though? Doesn’t seem like a technical limitation since the non-Arcade version is there.
This game is challenging and a little brain twisting sometimes, but it is a true word game for people who enjoy a challenge! I love that it isn’t the same easy baby words all the time, you need a good vocabulary for this game. I’ve played for a few days and have yet to come to a word that doesn’t make sense. Those complaining it’s too “scrabbley” are just upset because it’s challenging and not easy. Exactly what makes it a great word game!
i like the idea of the game but it gets boring fast because of repetitive words. i agree with other reviewers in that there's random, obscure vocabulary choices?? and the hint system is kinda pointless and irritating tbh
I like the game. Short words are sometimes a bit repetitive but it's fun. It's nice that alternative solutions are supported. Going through the archives, certain words were banned from the dictionary (eg swastika) but are part of solutions, so the puzzle doesn't end properly - developers should check that banned words are not part of puzzles. Unfortunately the game drains my battery - I've played it for an hour and it's taken up 36% of my battery, which is insane for such a simple game. I hope this problem gets fixed soon.
Turns out I love every game this guy creates! I can’t skip a day with this one, it’s so much fun! It would be even better if there were other languages, great practice if you’re learning a new one.
I like the idea of this game, but did not enjoy playing it. As someone else commented the word selection can be obscure and makes it less fun. What killed the game for me is when I used up my hints trying to get a definition for the obscure word and the hint kept disappearing before I could read it. Between the words and the hint system that wasn’t working I ended up finding the game frustrating instead of fun.
Decent word game but it’s very counterintuitive which cell it will select for you next. I want to type in WORDS but it will always cycle through the letters in a single box instead. Worse, it will go back to letters you have already set, so you end up changing them by accident. Fortunately there’s no penalty for mistakes but it is still frustrating to mess up a word you already solved due to strange interface design decisions.
I really enjoy this game, but there is no way to resume a puzzle- you have to either complete it, or just re-enter everything every time you leave the game. There is an option to save the game and exit, but there is no way to resume.

If stuck, try rearranging letters in a section to form different valid words, as some puzzles may have alternate solutions.
Knotwords offers two free daily puzzles: the Mini and Classic, with increasing difficulty throughout the week. The Mini is a smaller, quicker puzzle, ideal for beginners, while the Classic grows larger and more complex as the week progresses. Players can also access monthly puzzle books for additional challenges, though these may require a purchase or subscription (Knotwords+). The game rewards streaks for consistent play, and you can recover a missed day to maintain your streak. Be mindful of the UI when selecting cells—tap to select and drag down for vertical words, or left to right for horizontal ones. The game provides hints through letter placement, guiding you naturally toward the solution.
