Toppling blocks, falling books... Things that seem unimportant to humans can pose great danger in the frog world... Frogger is back! The classic frog-action game returns on Apple Arcade with an all-new look and the same simple gameplay. Guide the iconic amphibian forward as you evade the numerous obstacles in your path! ====================================== - Simple tap and swipe controls! - Playable in both landscape and portrait screen modes! - Over 400 pieces of furniture and other items ensure that stages are never dull! - Customize Frogger with over 20 different costumes! - Various missions give stages added replay value! - Play together with friends in the co-op mode! ====================================== [Story] One stormy night, a tornado swept through a quiet residential neighborhood, scooping up the city's trash and trees, as well as some poor, unsuspecting froglets. Frogger, who managed to shelter from the storm inside his den, is asked to help save the froglets, who have been left stranded inside human houses. The houses may be filled with danger, but Frogger is the only one who can rescue the froglets. It's time to take that first hop and begin your adventure!

Konami knows looks but has forgotten collisions

This game looks, sounds and evokes great feelings. The issue is when you’re trying to play the game to 100% it, the game readily makes certain frogs impossible to get to due to the screens horrible movement system. The game also kills your frog when barely touching a car and sometimes when trying to jump on a car (One of the games features), the cars count that as a hit with no difference between each attempt. The controls aren’t good either, as other users have noted, but they’re not the biggest problem in my play through. When I see Konami I expect quality, and in the way of looking like a little big planet game, they did provide quality, but need much more refinement on the game itself before anywhere near a 5 could be provided.

Glitchy game that NEEDS to be patched yesterday!

Frogger in Toy Town was a title I was actually looking forward to upon the launch of Apple Arcade. Unfortunately, it’s been riddled with all sorts of issues that render it unplayable. On my iPhone 11, it appears to install a (broken) Japanese version. Text and dialogue is either empty replaced by a series of question marks and dashes (?- - -), while some buttons have visibly hiragana text. Attempting to set the language to English is a hassle. The settings button completely disappears upon toggling with no settings menu showing up at all. The little bit I am able to play actually plays fine. The lack of discernible buttons and working menus prevent me from progressing forward, however. I’ve tried removing and reinstalling the game as well as updating my iOS software and restarting. No solution thus far here. On my iPad, Frogger actually forced it to shut down for power issues despite my iPad having 38% charge on the battery. The text/menu issues aren’t present here but the random shutdown during the opening cutscene makes the game unplayable. I can’t even make it to the first level because of this. I’m hoping the devs see this comment or the others and release an update patching these issues. This isn’t a bad game, but it won’t be any good hindered by these issues.

Awesome game!!!

This is one of my favorite games on my iPad. The levels are interesting and have a lot of detail, and the levels are not all alike. One thing you could do is add boss battles to the end of some levels. In the boss battles I would like the screen to stop side scrolling and give the bosses three phases and dialogue. I am eight years old and sometimes when my Dad and I take walks we try to come up with our own ideas of levels and boss battles that would be cool for the game. One cool idea for a level would be Frogger is making his way through multilevel tower with a boss on top. Please add a costume creator mode where you get to create your own costume. You could pick from the characters Frogger, Bull, or Slim then draw your costume. The final step would be to color in the costume and then it would automatically become realistic in the game. PS. I love the game and I am not trying to change it. I am only trying to give you some of my thoughts on making the game even cooler. Happy Holidays!

Fun game at times but glitches abound and lacks replay ability

The outside world collisions with throwable objects are fun as heck. The environment is awesome too, but maybe that’s just a personal bias because I like games where you shrink down and normal objects seem giant. As for every thing else though, it kinda falls flat. The collisions, while fun, are tough to get around at times. Stuff like paint cans and springs feel awkward to use. Due to these collisions, glitches can happen that ruin the whole thing. On one of the stages, I died to a lawnmower. When I respawned, I respawned ON TOP OF THE LAWNMOWER and had NO CONTROL of Frogger. I almost died from that. Second, the game feels off. There are no bosses at all because I assume the glitches would make them way more difficult. There are only a bunch of random obstacles that you can get through easily. Like for example, the baby. Third problem; the toy capsules. Normally games give you a reason to progress, but this isn’t. It just gives you a tiny statue thing that just exists. No real sense of accomplishment. Final problem; title music. This music is really awful. Please update this game Konami.

Garbage controls

I am extremely frustrated with this game, yes the graphics are great and all but I was expecting it to be a really fun game to play and unfortunately due to control issues as many people have mentioned I could barely get past level one on my phone. Not only is it frustrating when you swipe left/right or tap to jump out of the way and nothing happens but it’s also extremely frustrating when they allow the froglets to go off screen or in an area where you cannot reach them (when saving them is the main objective of the game.) On top of that where is the consistency with jumping on vehicles? Am I not allowed to jump on trucks and only on cars? Am I not allowed to jump on either? I feel like sometimes I can jump on trucks and cars and sometimes I can’t at all or I lose a life. It’s extremely disappointing when you have high hopes for a game but you are only let down because the game is more frustrating than it’s worth.

Addicting and fun

I’ve been pretty into this game for the last month. I started out using the touch controls, but realized quickly that I would need to use my Xbox controller if I was going to get anywhere, and sure enough the final stages are pretty brutal. This game has amazing graphics and a lot of charm. Some of the costumes are a trip for sure. The levels are really creative too. I do agree with others that a couple of the frogs here and there are almost impossible to get, and it can be deflating to lose them all right before the end of the level, though I don’t mind the difficulty. Once I decided I didn’t have to 100% the game and just get to the end, it became a lot better for me. I do strive to access all of the secret stages as well. One more thing: is there still going to be a co-op mode?

Good BUT...
Tue May 05 2020 Frogger Fan...sort of

Sometimes I really love this game, but I find that the controls and other aspects of gameplay don’t always work as expected. For example, despite my furious swiping I sometimes cannot get my frog to climb up objects (like lamps and shovel handles). I wish the game would not allow me to throw objects in the wrong direction (as sometimes my frog will accidentally be facing backwards). I wish I knew exactly when I can and cannot jump on a moving vehicle - seems like sometimes I can and other times I just die. Sometimes there are many obstacles (helicopters, toy trucks, lawnmowers) but there are no objects that I can possibly pick up to defeat them and therefore I just die. PLEASE make gameplay more controllable, consistent, and predictable.

Good game! HOWEVER...

I’ve only played several levels so far but I have an opinion. Overall, I think it’s a great game. I love the graphics. And all the different obstacles add a nice touch. However, when I looked at the reviews for the game, I saw something about being able to jump on cars. I’ve tried this, and can’t seem to be able to get it right. Most of the time, the game decides: No and then kills you. I assume that there’s a correct time to jump, but I just don’t know. The only consistent method I’ve found is dying, and then you are able to jump on the cars. If this could get some attention, that would be great. I would like some clarification on this issue.

I remember playing this game when I was little and I’m very pleased of this remix of this game. Phenomenal graphics, fun levels, and love the added saving of Lil’ Froggers. I will admit sometimes there are delays when holding the sideways and trying to get over some obstacles. But that could possibly be because I need to get used to the buttons or there may be some pre-release bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall I’m so very happy with Apple releasing arcade and the games they have on here and minus the frustrating ads included in most of the apps today. Apple Arcade and this game are highly recommended!!!

Almost good. Terrible phone controls

Though the reboot of this classic game has some fun ideas, gameplay is unbearable using touch interface. Intro is so long with no skip option that I almost erased it immediately. Tragic UI. But the controls are so stupid and unresponsive that it makes the game no fun all frustration. Swipe left to turn left but tap jump forward only. Trying to jump left is a complete crapshoot same with right or back. It should be this simple:click the screen on whichever side of the frog you want to jump to. No swiping just jumping. This also solves the problem of jumping back at the bottom of the screen. You can’t. The entire game currently is spent fighting the terrible controls. Fix the UI and this game will be worth 4 stars.
