Here are some screenshots of the game.
This is truly a beautiful, escape-room themed game that gets harder as it goes. There were only a small handful of times I had to use a hint to understand where to go or what to do next, but honestly that was mostly just me missing things haha. It was not too hard, not too easy, just right! Will definitely be recommending to my friends as well as playing again. The only thing I can really say though is that I wish that the storyline was just a little easier to grasp, follow, and just overall understand. I got the gist of it enough to more than enjoy this beautiful story, but i just found it hard to connect some of the dots and lines in the plot, and it would have been cool to be able to understand every note and how it and the characters writing them fit into the overall plot and its importance. I, however, plan to play again and again like re-reading a good book to see how many new parts of the story i can uncover that i missed the first time! This was truly a masterpiece, and I can say that I genuinely enjoyed my time invested spent playing it! Definitely a must download for any puzzle lover, but honestly this game is just perfect for ipad players!!
Throughout the whole game I was always on edge and scared by the atmosphere, lighting, and environment which made the whole experience that much more riveting. I was so engaged the whole time. My favorite room would have the be the Séance one, that camera scene gave me goosebumbs. But my favorite part of this game would have to be the clues, they make the playthroughs smoother and less aggravating. They show up at the perfect time and theres vagueness enough that it doesnt give it all away. Not having those clues would have frustrated me and probably made me hate this game and have a headache. But because of the outstanding graphics, compelling ambience, and those helpful pointers, I was able to thoroughly enjoy the game. This must've taken long to make cuz the amount of detail and realism and just sharpness in this has me blown away. I wish I could erase my memory so I can play this again for the first time. I've never even reviewed any game I've played until now because this game deserves 5 stars and all the praise. I solemnly believe more people need to play this because this was a beautiful.
I was finally able to make it all the way through the game. WOW, it is awesome!! I really love this game, but it keeps crashing!! I made it through to completing the wooden box in chapter two when it crashed the first time. It made me start all over from the tutorial. After 8 additional crashes and having to redo the first chapter I am back at the start of the second chapter for the third time. Obviously I know how to get back to where I was and it does seem to have finally started saving some of my progress as each time it crashes I only go back a couple of steps but this is ridiculous. It totally takes the fun out of the game to have to keep redoing the same puzzles over and over again!! Obviously it shouldn’t be crashing but there should be some way to save your progress so you don’t have to redo stuff when it does crash!! It should either give you the option to save or should show that the game is saving your progress. If this were fixed it would be a 5 star game for sure!!
So I just wanna start out by saying I don’t like horror movies or games but my dad suggested this game and I looove puzzles and escape rooms so I decided to give it a try. The into and first 2 chapters were fun. But you almost lost me on the 3rd one 😂 I freaked out when the guy appear in the corner and even more when the skeleton appeared at the table 😂. But anyway I finished that chapter and when onto the next and I could tell as soon as the door started to open that this was gonna be creepy (rusty doors on a creepy building at night, what do you expect?) so I exited the app and came over to write a review. I really liked all the puzzles because I had to think about them and remember the small details. But they weren’t to hard that I got frustrated. The only thing I would suggest is to make the story more clear but maybe that’s the point? I’m confused on why there a skeleton at the table and why they guys face it scratched out. I need answers! Okay now I’m gonna go finish 😰!
I have played quite a few escape room type of games, and was usually woefully disappointed. They would be too hard, or too easy, to complete and enjoy, or have a lame plot behind it. This, however, easily blows them all out of the water, in the very best way. With a fascinating story, and amazingly beautiful designs, this is the perfect amount of challenging to keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat. I was hooked immediately and now I am purchasing and downloading all of the other games this developer produces. Honestly, I’m not one to drop money on games…like, at all….but for this game, I will happily make an exception! Trust me, if you like escape room type games, you absolutely have to try this one! It’s truly unlike any other! For the record, I don’t think I’ve ever written a game review before…but I just had to with this one! Enjoy!
This game should be awarded some kind of recognition for its beautiful graphics, truly fascinating clues, and the overall ambiance created through the sound fx and music. I enjoyed myself and it definitely satisfied the puzzle-solving, mystery-loving part of me. My only suggestions for improvement would be: 1) I’d like a little more control over the zoom speed. Having the camera angle whirl around or take a less than linear path gave me a bit of eyestrain. 2) Make the game better at knowing when I’ve already done what some hints say to do and not push those hints and/or provide a list of hints to choose from where the hints would only become available after the player unlocks them by solving certain things. The latter would also let me revisit hints if needed. I say this because some of the hints prompted me to do things I had already done or was in the process of doing. This meant that sometimes when I was ready for a hint, the game would push hint 1 or hint 2 when what I really needed was hint 3 or hint 4. I would find myself thinking, “I already figured that out. Tell me something I don’t know.” These suggestions should not take away from the fact that this game is really well done and immensely enjoyable for those of us who love puzzle solving and experiencing a sense of discovery. I wish I could give 9/10 instead of 4/5!
Can someone make this in VR? I need this in VR. I almost prefer this to real escape rooms now; not only are the scenes gorgeous and the ambiance just the right amounts of spooky but mysterious, the entire experience feels so real—the slight claustrophobia, mild anxiety, and panic at being stuck in a small, abandoned room forever. The difficultly level of this was just right also; not once was I bored or thought that the room was too obvious, but neither did I ever feel like pulling out hairs over how absurdly arbitrary some solutions were, Also, someone give this sound engineer a raise. All of the sound effects were so perfect in this. This game would have been just a regular escape room game with slightly better than average visuals had it not been for the sound effects that made me really feel as if I were stranded at sea or having the ground quake below my feet.
I have been playing The Room games for years (yes, years!). I’ve played every single one of them and I love them. Enough so that I keep coming back and replaying them. I just completed this game (again) and can’t help myself from loving it all over again. I love the mystery to the game. It’s not really clear as you go what the story will be. It keeps you guessing on what’s going to happen in the next chapter. The puzzles are fun and hard enough to keep you thinking. It’s not some mindless “this is done in 2 seconds” type of game. You’ll need to take screen shots or write things down because you’ll run across something that you’ll use 5 minutes later. Getting back to the clues is simple though, so if you’re lost, you can just look back on what you’ve already done. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is super user friendly. I like how the game gives you hints, but without giving you the answer straight out. I do wish that some of the clues were a little less “well duh, I already knew that” and a little more helpful. Like in the later chapters where the clue says “I picked up a handle. I wonder where that could be used?” All in all, highly recommend this game to anyone that loves puzzles and mystery and room escapes.
Okay, when I say I have scoured the Apple Arcade/Game Store for a decent escape room game, I mean I have spent hours toiling over this. Then one day my dad came over and said to me “I know you like escape rooms and I think you’d like this game, it’s called the Room 2+.” So I downloaded it and IMMEDIATELY got heavily addicted to this. It’s just challenging enough to make you think about the entire room and not just one puzzle, but easy enough for the average idiot (aka me) to do. I had to use hints, and they were pretty decent hints and didn’t just tell you how to do the puzzle. The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because I finished the entire game in like, 1 day. It was absolutely stupendous and I just wish there were more puzzles and chapters. I totally recommend, just don’t get too addicted because it doesn’t last long. I hope there’s a future game as good as this.
I highly recommend this to people who like point-and-click puzzle games. While the market for these games has been oversaturated over time there are still some true gems like the room. 3D point-and-click puzzles are the best of the bunch, utilizing the ability to rotate objects in 3D space makes for very unique puzzle mechanics. As for the challenge I’d give it a 5/10. The puzzles are easy enough to prevent you from getting frustrated, but are challenging enough to make you feel rewarded. The hint system is also well done. They are more subtle. They start out by pointing you in the right direction, and if you’re still having trouble the hints get less subtle. The only problem I have is that the story was a pretty hard to follow. Even that said the gameplay alone deserves 5 stars.
