❗️Spoilers if you haven’t played it yet! ❗️Basically, Ida is a princess who stole sacred geometry (the stuff from her hat) so she is cursed and turned into a human. As a human, she can’t talk (which is why she is silent) and she can’t fly. When she looks in the mirror, she is a crow with a crown and wings, which hints her true form. Which is why after she returns all the sacred geometry, she is turned back into the crow princess. And the crows are actually her servants but they too had lost their wings and ability to fly after Ida stole the geometry. And it might be possible that the ghosts she speaks to are the ones who cursed her OR the spirits/ghosts built the geometry. My other theory: A spirit has the same hat as Ro (from Monument 2.) Is it possible that the spirit is Ida’s mother? In monument 2, Ro is seen with an unnamed daughter, is Ida her daughter? Was Ro the queen of the Crow People? Did Ro get turned into a human because Ida stole the geometry? In Monument 2, it seems like Ro is making geometry, and so is her child, so did Ida learn how to make geometry, but then steal geometry from Ro? OR is Monument 2 a completely different story? i hope i didn’t confuse anyone with my explanation and theory though..
I’ve played a lot of games like Brain Test, Brain out and things like that but they aren’t ever really fun. This game is different, it’s easy and hard at the same time. In this game there’s balance. If you work hard and long to beat a level, instead of being given a completely different hard level, you get a similar one. Because the levels are similar in their own way, you build the mindset and skills to play the harder ones. It makes this game a lot of fun. The only thing I would change if I could would be to MAKE IT LONGER. Both Monument Valleys are the best. I’ve played the extra levels in Monument Valley and the special tree level in Monument Valley 2, but I want more. I just wish these games didn’t end. Thank you so much developers for everything you do. I don’t know how you did but you have made the BEST GAME EVER. I know you have to read bad comments to improve your game, but don’t let them get you down. I’ve played this game multiple times and have seen no problem in it. Thanks again developers! (Sorry if this is too long)
‼️May contain minor spoilers for the game I barely ever write reviews on any apps at all, but I just had to review Monument Valley. I remember playing this game when I was younger, and coming back to playing when I grew older is one of the best decisions I’ve made. The games visuals are simple but stunning in a way you usually don’t see in mobile games, and the puzzles were simple but fun and engaging to play over and over again. Most importantly, when I played this game when I was younger, I barely payed any attention to the storyline and character interactions, but they honestly make the game. Ida’s simplistic but elegant design paired with her story and her ‘Quest for Forgiveness’ give the game a whole new meaning, and the lore is both simple but complex at the same time. Not to mention her interactions with Totem and the spirit are simple but meaningful, all of this while being completely silent. Overall, this is a stunning game that I am glad I came back to rediscover, same goes for Monument Valley 2 as well, and I hope everyone who plays feels the same way.
Touching emotional brain teasers needs no Internet always so good. Also make sure you get Monument Valley 2 because it’s another great story and I am responding to someone else’s review with the little 🌈 and talking about the spoilers. and like your whole theory so I believe it is a whole different story but you did a good job of understanding it. Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2. our separate stories both touching and emotional except I’m not photosensitive so I can’t cry with either of them is kind of frustrating but yeah so always get it. Totally recommend get it now. If you have enough space just don’t try to get it if you don’t have enough space but otherwise you should probably get it and if your photos sensitive be prepared to cry.😭
I was blown away by the design of this game. The premise and objectives are super simple, but the visuals are so complex and disorienting at the same time. There are no instructions how to play, but that’s part of the puzzle. And I love how the story unfolds little by little, it takes a while to figure out what’s going on and who the characters represent. You can finish all the levels in a day, but it’s well worth the time. The Escher-esque levels really make you think. It’s a physics-bending game of perspective. Also If you like this type of mechanical puzzle game, give Mekorama a try. It’s very similar but without the story, and you can even design your own levels.
I bought both Monument games in the past and now I’m so excited Apple Arcade has brought it into the subscription. As soon as I saw this was available, I immediately downloaded and started to play. This is a game you can replay a few times without it getting boring or repetitive. I like to play this game when I need to relax, especially before bed. It doesn’t put you to sleep, it’s just very calming and immersive. There is a storyline that you will follow, I believe the developers are mothers who created the characters (especially the 2nd Monument Valley) with the vision of their young children. It’s a gorgeous game, I really do believe everyone should try it out.
Everything in and around this game is wonderful. It has plenty of very unique, varied, and incredibly creative screens (little storied scenes) to solve. It’s funny at times, they’re awesome brain teasers with perfect and very colorful graphics and smooth execution. With all that stimulation, I am sure I increased my brain power! Congrats on creating the perfect hours-long entertainment! Sometimes I was afraid I would not be able to finish the three full games included, but with patience and perseverance I actually did which was a relaxing feeling at the end.
If I could give this more than five stars I would. It is so well thought out(and challenging), while still being simplistic and beautiful. The sounds are amazing when using headphones. The optical illusions and depth perception factors are amazing addition to the game that makes finishing a level that much more satisfying. The ending of monument valley is quite the treat if you followed the story well. Each and every second of this game is simply an adventure and it is well worth buying Apple Arcade to play this. One of the best mobile games I have ever played.
So when I was a bit younger I had the original game it’s costs money and I was obsessed with it a couple years later I found out this game came out so all I wanted to do was play it I tried it out and it was amazing!!! I love games with mystery’s in them but not really murder mystery and once I saw in the desc it said a quest for forgiveness I knew this was my type of game the way the characters walk are very smooth the design is amazing and just the gameplay itself is awesome 👏 I recommend this game if your into puzzles and mystery this is a five star game
If you’re anything like me, you’ve seen this game many times. It’s on your list of “when the times right” games. It took me two years of noticing it but never diving deep enough to actually download it and give it a shot. My god, this was some of the best “gaming” experience I’ve had in a very long time! The time is now, enough of the “next times”. Especially because it’s offered on Apple Arcade! The first and only game I’ve played on the 12.9” M1 iPad, and for good reason. Good work to everyone involved!
