I always play this game before bed or before a nap on my vacation or at home its nice and calm and great for people who wants your calm down before a nap or sleep๐
I wrote a previous review stating all the good things about this game, so Iโm going to skip the praise. This game lags so much that it becomes unplayable. It drains your phone battery in about 20 minutes, if you can even play that long without your phone getting so hot your fingers are practically burning. Forget charging and playing at the same time, too. Your phone will be too hot and charging will be disabled until your phone returns to a normal temperature. Iโm currently using an iPhone 14 so I shouldnโt be having this issue, nor am I alone, based on other reviews. I donโt know how the optimization of a sequel can be so much worse than the original. Itโs a bummer.
Why after all this time Apple Arcade has so few GOOD games (how many versions of solitaire do we need???). This is a great game! Beautiful graphics, challenging game play, and FUN. Finally a reason to keep my Apple Arcade membership.
This is a phenomenal game. Iโve finished the campaign levels and now have a sandbox world developing. However it now will not load the level once I get to about 50 population. Hoping this bug can be fixed because Iโm really enjoying this game. Playing on an iPhone 12

This game is not bad! But I do miss the old one. Huge thing being the prioritization of things, and the builders hut. I get the more animated, more detailed version however the older version was more fun. The levels are also too simple.
I really like the chill vibe of the game, but its unfortunately very poorly optimized so it starts to lag horribly once your population count gets any higher than 15 and becomes unplayable. Overheats phone and drains battery.

There are some game mechanics that should be added in order to better gameplay. Things like letting us decide what kind of resource is gonna be used for the open kitchen (I have a big issue with them taking vegies from my glasshouses and not the meat that they canโt eat without the open kitchen). Fixing villagers doing legit NOTHING half of the day would also help a lot. The amount of times Iโve yelled at my screen to just do something, ANYTHING. So yeah, adding stuff like letting the player choose what resource is gonna be used when thereโs options and villagers not doing legit nothing would help a lot.

Begin by selecting a leader and a biome to start your town. Focus on gathering basic resources like wood and food by building Foragerโs Huts and Farms. Assign workers strategically to balance production and growth. Use the Outlands Field Guide to understand resource progression and unlock new buildings as you progress through the campaign.
Daily Challenges offer unique level types and leaderboards. Prioritize tasks based on the challengeโs goals, such as building specific structures or surviving harsh weather in the Winterlands. Experiment with Decrees to gain bonuses, but monitor follower happiness to avoid rebellions.
Follow the 21-level campaign, guiding leaders like Cory through branching storylines. Each level introduces new buildings and mechanics, requiring careful resource management to meet objectives and unlock the next chapter.
In Sandbox Mode, build freely without level restrictions. Customize terrain layouts (Island, Peninsula, etc.) and resources to create themed towns or challenge yourself with self-imposed goals, such as maximizing population or surviving with minimal resources.
