I enjoyed this game from day one. And I like seeing how the game is getting small improvements each month. But I still feel like co op needs to be better especially have an online co op. Because having 2 steel series controllers linked to my iPhone is not ok😂 honestly that’s such a small complaint but it could be an easy fix. Otherwise the music, combat, and exploring is a fun way to pass the time 🗡
The actual gameplay is enjoyable if simplistic, but the story is pretty much nonexistent . While it has a framing device tying it to the other Oceanhorn games, none of the characters or antagonists are given a backstory or any real context for what they are, and when you defeat the final boss it just sort of ends without ever showing whether the protagonists succeed or fail or what they did or how it leads into the original Oceanhorn. What are the consequences of defeating chronos? Who is he? Who are the protagonists and why do they want to do this? What do they do with the hourglass? Is this the same continuity as Oceanhorn or did it split the timeline? Additionally, I feel like having all four characters be humans was a missed opportunity. Why no Owrou or Gillfolk characters? The Oceanhorn verse has other sentient species that are humanoid and can wield weapons and magic.
i’m not gonna even play the game; everything the developers DONT say is what i hear. see, there is taking certain aspects of a game to make your ORIGINAL idea better, and completely ripping it off. oceanhorn as a whole is a sad excuse of a zelda game, starring a blonde, blue-eyed male protagonist wielding a sword to save the kingdom from an all-powerful force with heart containers, stamina, dungeons, and items. except they managed to take aspects from an icon game, the legend of zelda: phantom hourglass, and screw it up. i hope to take this to court someday, and believe me i’ll crush your sorry company who can’t come up with a good idea. if you want a quality gaming experience, play the legend of zelda games, particularly if you like this plot, which was ripped from the legend of zelda: phantom hourglass.
The game is fun, and I played through the entire game on Normal mode, since I’m just a causal gamer, but by the end the game was just plain boring. The enemies are monotonous, the bosses and mini bosses are painfully easy to beat (too few attack patterns), and the progression path was slow. It didn’t seem to matter the skills that each character had, the whole game played pretty much the same. I was hoping this would be like moonlighter or other dungeon rogue RPGs in a similar style, but it wasn’t.
Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the game and for the first couple levels it was challenging but then it got way to easy once you understood the characters and I started it in hard. I understand keeping it playable for all age groups but “hard” should actually be hard. However I did live playing it and would play again. I love Oceanhorn
I played this primarily stoned on easy mode and beat it in just barely under 5hrs without 100%ing anything It was an enjoyable experience nothing was truly hard though I struggled with a mini boss one go around but I chalk that up to user error haha. If you have apple arcade and are even loosely interested in the genre its definitely worth grabbing
This game would be perfect if the difficulty was I lot higher. Super fun at first, but once you understand the game it becomes way too easy, even on hard mode. I guess this is perfect for children, and new video game lovers.
I'll change my review once you fix this issue, because the game is great but this one problem is ruinkng the gameplay. The Beserker trait DOES NOT WORK. Regular enemies are supposed to be one-hit if the Risk is 100. Sometimes this works, and enemies can be killed with one hit. But suddenly it will stop working even though the Risk has not changed. Nowhere in the trait description does it say this is a temporary ability, or that it only works sometimes. There is literally zero reason for my attacks to not be instantly killing the enemies.
This is a great Zelda-like game to enjoy without frustration. The story is interesting and every character class is fun to play. I highly recommend a game pad though as the on screen controls were a bit difficult.
I would not have give this game a low rating based on keyboard support, but, when paired with a keyboard, it cleary is implemented in the game. For me, the controls are very bugging and I can barley get the character to move with a keyboard! Please fix this as unusable controls severly impacts game expericene and poor magic keyboard and mouse control does not needs to exist on an Apple platform.
