I've enjoyed it but a couple things: 1. Some of the hidden objects do not display properly and are too close to the edge. For example, if the player is looking for the object CHAIN then you might get a single link to the far left or right, making it impossible to find without a clue. 2. Completed all collections and maps, but diary entries from earlier episodes have not completed. Doesn't seem to be a way to go back to a specific map to complete diary entries. 3. I'm now stuck in "endless mode" and unable to collect anymore paradox dust, although I think I have maybe 2 tasks left to complete the final episode. What's up with that? I completed every single hidden object game or puzzle offered. If you're trying to prevent players from "hoarding" paradox dust and getting through your next release of episodes too quickly then endless mode should only kick in once final task is completed.
Tried the game and after more than 200 levels, you got the exact sames 4 or 5 boards with the exact same hidden objects. Oh wait … yep sometimes they use a mirror board to try to “trick” you. I usually really like hidden-object games and was happy to find one on Arcade but this is one of the worst I ever tried.
I'm glad that a hidden object game has finally made its way to Apple Arcade, and hope this is only the first of more to come. The graphics and music are great, as typical for the genre, and while I'm not familiar with Dr. Who as a franchise, the main quest is entertaining enough. The main appeal of hidden object games for me is that searching for objects in a cluttered scene is a strangely relaxing experience. It's Where's Waldo for grown-ups, and a nice way to unwind. That said, I've got two nitpicks: First, the game has a timer mechanic that feels at odds with the relaxing experience I expect, although you can use some "cheats" you collect along the way to mitigate it. Second, the hidden object scenes aren't tied to the environments or story in any way, and although they do try to mix them up with new modes (like mirroring the scene, finding duplicate objects, and more) these must be replayed a LOT. Like dozens of times per scene. This become quite repetitive to the point where I found myself simply learning where the objects are. As for highlights, I was surprised on a couple of occasions to be greeted with a mini-story in the form of limited-time events. The story and graphics on these are, frankly, better than the main quest although they re-use the same hidden object scenes.
Someone was paid to make this? Apple thought people who pay for Arcade are going to want to play this? What a waste of time and resources.
The search scenes are very repetitive and lack any challenge since you’re searching for the same few sets of objects in the same 2-3 scenes.
I love Doctor Who, but this is barely a game. I don’t understand how the find object game works with the conceit of the story. The objects are obvious and there is three scenes pasted over and over for at least the first 25 “games”. It’s dreadful.
Thanks a lot for making it more fun! I’m now stuck in a gameplay mode that didn’t exist before and that I detest, with no way around it.
Three times now I’ve tried to select a puzzle in a story tree, only for it to fail to get past the loading screen. I tried this on 2 different devices and got the same result for those puzzles. I had to reset my game to continue on and I lost all of my progress. Finally caught up to where I was and it’s happened again. I’m done - I refuse to start from scratch again.
Trying to play a trivia puzzle but game keeps freezing
Playing the trivia mini game results in game freezing during load. Please fix.
