it’s a really great game, i love it, but i’d love it even more if there was an option to be a queen instead of a king on the main page!! just a thought though no pressure
The underlying chess game inside this awful package is not bad taken by itself. But the “mobile game design” disaster pasted on top of it is honestly offensive. This is one of those “check in every 10 minutes to get your keys+gems+coins+items+XP to buy more content” games. It’s the kind of design that is used to get people to keep coming back to the app to spend money… except this is all free so why are there multiple currencies and loot boxes? The app claims to teach you how to play chess but you have to use items to be able to get it to show you an evaluation of the board or which move is best. Those get unlocked from loot boxes. The app has chess puzzles organized as lessons to teach you fundamentals. But those cost gems or coins to unlock, and you get those from loot boxes. This game is part of AppleArcade. The progression should not require loot box mechanics. I think apple should take this game down.

My only complaint really is that if you are going to offer speed chess the speed of touch response needs improving. It is not a matter of device as I am playing on an iPhone 15. Also there could be more time options like maybe a 2 minute with bonus seconds re added for quick moves.like 2+1 etc…Overall it is decent and with Apple Arcade there are no ads.
I’ve been getting a lot better at chess,the bots are good and it’s such a fun experience I even suggested to my friends and family that they try it out 😁😍👍

Love the time limits you can choose. Well thought out development. The ability to rewatch the matches allows you you improve. Haven’t tried tournament mode yet but looking forward to it.
I am playing against the computer practice matches Level 6 and the platform will not let me castle when I should be able to. Please fix!
This game is such a good game because I kind of know chess but then THEN! IT TEACHES YOU HOW TO CHECKMATE?!?!?!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
