AMAZING !!!

I love the creativity efforts of Rovio to develop and expand the AB franchise into a newer game structure and using our familiar fave birds to whoop some bad piggies in a fun, entertaining game!

Decent but repetitive

Definitely fun and as addictive as the early angry birds were. Kills batteries as quickly as pigs though.

Fun and strategic time waster!

I’ve put so much time into this game in the last couple weeks. You can find so many different strategies to win. It’s fun watching the birds bounce across the screen. It can get pretty challenging, but never discouraging. Definitely my favourite Apple Arcade game in a sweet while.

Just slow and annoying

Not fun at all. Takes ages to load, and the gameplay is just frustrating.

Good, but the grind is far too slow
Wed Jul 16 2025 Qmechan

I’m enjoying it overall—the gameplay’s simple and fun, and I’m always happy with portrait games. The problem is the grind. The rewards are too low, even for a completed run, and it requires an AWFUL lot of time to get a single upgrade. The 3 activities you get refresh a bit too slowly (3 hours) and the 3rd one is often related to a charm that you might not get for 3-4 runs, and you’d need 2 complete runs or more to finish it. Some pretty serious difficulty spikes, which normally I’d just grind upgrade—I love upgrading—but this is just too much. Please consider upping the rewards, lowering the cost, and lowering the activity refresh rate.

Keeps hatching

you play and try to reload it just keeps hatching and doesn’t load. Sadly. Don’t waste time.

Hatching…

I can’t get past the loading screen. All I see is hatching… …

Fun, but too short
Sun Jul 27 2025 Androto

There’s nothing to do after acquiring all upgrades and beating 100 iles. It would be nice if the game had more iles, or new daily challenges. It would also be nice to be able to reply challenges to beat your previous score. However, none of these are possible. After completing the game it feel like there’s nothing left to do. There is no replay factor.

Potential bug

Was having fun playing this game but got to the point where I am required to pick “Bomb” but when I choose the bird that highlighted it’s says”let’s go” but then doesn’t proceed or allow me to tap anything anywhere

Semi-Automagic: The Angry Birds Legacy | by Antony Terence | ILLUMINATION | Medium

      1. Understanding the Core Mechanics

    1. Objective: Clear each level by popping pigs (hitting them a set number of times) and breaking bricks using a limited number of bird shots. Each level has waves, and you must strategize to maximize damage.
    2. Slingshot and Bouncing: Unlike traditional Angry Birds, you launch birds vertically in a portrait-oriented, grid-based level. Birds bounce off walls until they exit through the open bottom or get stuck. If a bird is stuck, swipe downward to end the shot.
    3. Champion Bird Selection: At the start of each round, choose a "champion" bird (e.g., Red, Chuck, Bomb) to lead your flock. Each bird has unique attributes affecting speed, damage, or special abilities.
    4. Flock Composition: You launch birds in a "train," with the champion leading. As you progress, you can add other birds to your flock, combining their abilities for powerful combos.
    5. Rogue-Lite Elements: After each level, you unlock a random power-up, ensuring no two runs are identical. Levels cannot be replayed, so strategic planning is key.
    6. Currencies: Feathers unlock additional bird or power-up slots, while dice allow rerolling daily challenges or flock/charm choices.
      1. 2. General Strategies for Success

      2. Master Precision Shots: The challenge lies in lining up perfect shots to hit multiple pigs and bricks in one bounce. Aim for angles that maximize bounces, such as 45-degree shots to ricochet off walls and cover more area. Practice in early levels to get a feel for the physics.
      3. Prioritize Pigs: Focus on hitting pigs, as they’re the primary objective. Some pigs require multiple hits, so plan shots to strike them repeatedly in one bounce. Bricks are secondary but can block access to pigs, so clear them strategically.
      4. Use Bird Abilities Wisely: Each bird has unique skills: Red: Standard damage, good for general use, Chuck: Faster movement, ideal for quick, precise shots., Bomb: Explosive impact, great for clearing clusters of bricks or pigs, Gordon: Strategic abilities, inspired by Toronto’s Blue Jays and Gord Downie.
        • Jo, Ruby, Melody: Lesser-known birds with unique skills (e.g., Jo’s dance-inspired moves). Experiment to find synergies. Combine birds in your flock to create powerful combos, like pairing Bomb with Chuck for explosive, fast shots.
      5. Leverage Power-Ups: Power-ups unlock after each level and can enhance damage, add extra birds, or alter bounce physics. Choose power-ups that complement your flock’s strengths or address level-specific challenges (e.g., extra damage for tough pigs).
      6. Manage Currencies: Use feathers to unlock flock slots for more birds, increasing combo potential. Save dice for rerolling daily challenges if you’re stuck or want better flock options.
      7. Swipe to End Stuck Shots: If a bird gets trapped in an endless bounce loop, swipe downward to end the shot and preserve your turn. This is crucial in levels with tight shot limits.
        1. 3. Level Progression Tips

Since specific level walkthroughs aren’t available, here’s how to approach the game’s progression based on its structure:

          • Early Levels (1–10): These introduce basic mechanics. Focus on learning bounce angles and bird abilities. Aim for three-star completions by clearing levels with minimal shots to earn extra feathers.
            • Example: In Level 1, Wave 2 (as shown in screenshots), pigs and bricks are sparsely placed. Aim for a 45-degree angle to bounce between walls, hitting pigs multiple times.
          • Mid-Game Levels (11–50): Levels introduce more pigs, tougher bricks, and environmental obstacles. Prioritize clearing bricks blocking pig access. Use power-ups like extra damage or multi-bird shots to handle crowded layouts.
            • Tip: If a level has pigs clustered in a corner, aim for a shallow angle to keep the bird bouncing in that area.
          • Later Levels (51+): Expect complex layouts with pigs requiring multiple hits and limited shots. Combine high-damage birds (e.g., Bomb) with power-ups like explosive bounces. Plan each shot carefully, as mistakes can force restarts.
            • Tip: Use dice to reroll flock options if your current birds don’t suit the level’s layout.
          • Daily Challenges: These offer unique layouts with high rewards. Use dice to reroll for easier challenges if needed. Focus on high scores to climb leaderboards.

            4. Pro Tips and Tricks

          1. Chain Combos: Hit multiple pigs and bricks in one shot to build combos, increasing your score and earning extra rewards. Aim for ricochet patterns that loop through high-value targets.
          2. Study Level Layouts: Before launching, analyze pig and brick positions. Look for weak points (e.g., single bricks blocking pigs) to maximize shot efficiency.
          3. Experiment with Flock Builds: Rogue-lite elements mean flock builds vary each run. Try different champion birds and flock combinations to find what works best for your playstyle.
          4. Conserve Shots: Each level has a shot limit. If you’re close to clearing but low on shots, use power-ups or high-damage birds to finish efficiently.
          5. Check Achievements: As of July 2025, there’s only one achievement in the game. Check it in the Game Center to guide your playstyle (e.g., it might reward perfect shots or combos).
          6. Updates and Content

A recent "Swine Wave" update introduced Hal as a playable character, adding new content. The official Angry Birds team has promoted new birds and updates, such as Gordon’s introduction. The game is praised for its vibrant visuals and addictive gameplay, though some players find certain levels challenging and bird unlocks slow.

              Reception and Community Feedback

Feedback is mixed. Some fans enjoy its fresh approach, comparing it to non-slingshot titles like Angry Birds Go and Pop, while others see it as derivative, similar to Bounzy or Angry Birds Action. The Apple Arcade exclusivity has sparked debate, with some feeling it limits accessibility compared to a wider iOS and Android release. Players have noted characters like the Blues and Stella as effective, though levels like Isle 42 are seen as tough due to mechanics like adaptable shields.

                Development Insights

Game Lead Bryan Cook explained that the Toronto studio aimed to create a game that feels like Angry Birds but explores new genres, choosing brick-breaker mechanics to stand out from slingshot titles like Angry Birds 2 and Reloaded. The Apple Arcade model, with no in-game monetization, shaped its focus on player engagement over revenue. It’s considered a strong fit for Apple Arcade, following the success of Angry Birds Reloaded.
