Still early in the game. Fun and soothing. Slow the speed and very tranquil. I’m sure it will intensify. A game like this makes the Arcade subscription worth it.

Cool!

Simple, but complex

I wondered how a game could be “soothing” as some of the other reviews have said, but it actually is! This game is, at its core, the most simple concept you could come up with but implemented perfectly. The physics are really good, controls are perfect (I don’t understand the comment that complained about them) and a perfectly minimalist interface that uses multiple fingers to bring up the menu which, in my experience, is really unique. I’ve only played for a couple of hours, but really enjoying it so far.

Walkthrough

Getting Started

Begin as a small mote in a cosmic environment. Tap to eject matter and propel yourself toward smaller motes to absorb them and grow. Be cautious—each movement reduces your size, so plan strategically to avoid larger motes that can absorb you.

Mastering Time-Warping

Use the time-warping feature to slow down time, allowing you to outmaneuver faster opponents. Speed it up to increase the challenge when you're ready. This mechanic is key to tackling tougher levels with agile AI opponents like the Ferax.

Multiplayer Mode

Engage in multiplayer by connecting via Wi-Fi or online. Compete in six distinct arenas, such as Ambient or Antimatter Impasse. Anticipate opponents’ moves and balance growth with propulsion to dominate the match.

Gameplays

Ambient Play

Explore serene levels with a relaxed pace, focusing on absorbing smaller motes while enjoying the hypnotic soundtrack and visuals. Perfect for a calming experience.

Competitive Petri Dish

Face intense competition in petri dish arenas where intelligent motes, like the Ovarium or Nemocyte, challenge your strategy. Grow quickly but avoid reckless moves that could shrink you too much.

Solar Systems

Navigate complex solar system levels with attractors and repulsors affecting your path. Plan your trajectory carefully to absorb motes while avoiding gravitational pulls that could lead to larger predators.
