Literally Unplayable

EDIT: Tutorial fixed. Changed to 3-stars. Will update once I have a chance to play the game. ORIGINAL: Shouldn’t even get one star. First, tutorial is completely bugged - map is completely black and you have to stumble around walls that you can’t see. Even if you manage to find your way around, you reach a stage where you have to place a bot and can’t do it - I don’t know if there’s a confirmation button that’s also invisible that I don’t know about or what, but stuck from that point on. Second, and the reason for one star, these issues are well documented in reviews but haven’t been updated in 7 months. It’s one thing to have a bug in your game. It’s another to ignore it for 7 months. This game is dead. Why is this part of a subscription I pay for?

Game seems cool

Everything is explained in the tutorial. When you start matches after the tutorial there will be fast paced white flashes on the screen that take up a huge portion of the map as you are firing. I want to enjoy this game BUT the giant white flashes make it hard to see and i feel like this game is a seizure waiting to happen. The white flashes seem more like a glitch than an effect. Almost like the devs just decided “meh…. The game works.. we dont need to fix this”. It looks like it has potential BUT i will not be playing more matches or delving into any more mechanics until they fix the obtrusive white flashes. Also, i cannot recommend this game until the flashes are fixed. I give it 2 stars. If anyone is sensitive to bright, fast paced and white flashing lights; please do not download this game due to the obvious risk of seizure. You should probably fix this if you care about the game, devs.

Screen flashes with giant white spot covering half of screen. UI elements are difficult to use and understand

They fixed the black screen

Map is glitched to black on iphone 12 pro max. Even some of the bots are glitch sometimes Edit: the fix black screen but the game is still very much unrefined and not to my taste. But I won’t fault them for that. However this game still heats up my phone like crazy after only 20 mins of play no other game i played does that...

Complicated, but deep. An underrated classic Apple Arcade strategy game.

If you can stick with it until you understand everything, it truly is a fun action strategy game.

Very Buggy

The game has great potential it’s just the bugs are very annoying. Huge white spots that pop up on the screen as you play. Epilepsy warning.

Amazing Idea, terrible iPhone controls

I really want to love this game. It has so much going for it, such great gameplay and so many good ideas. The ability to customize your bots and divert resources into your strategy are extremely satisfying and seem deep. I say seem because I am not entirely sure what all of the options are. When selecting bot options from menus you are unable to see the stats without pressing and holding down on the icon, but it only pops up for a second. So you have to keep pressing again and again to read an items entry, which makes it really tedious to compare different options. Matching each weapon type to a different animal is a really cool idea, but you are inhibited from learning what each animal represents in a timely manner. Also, actual combat feels janky with certain styles of weapons. The simulation of two joysticks for moving and aiming is pretty well done, but the grenade launcher arms for your mech fire when you press down on the right “joystick” and you have to release to press and fire again, meaning you fire before you get to aim. Instead of a more intuitive drag and drop feel of aiming while pressing down and firing when raising your finger. This would be so much more useable. I imagine that this game plays much better with a controller, like on an Appletv or MacBook, but on my iPhone X plus the menus are too small and the touch controls not accurate enough to make certain builds doable.

Very cool game, unskippable tutorial

Masterclass on how do squander developer talent on bad UX.

One of the worst games I’ve ever played.
